"I need to look up what Fascist means" no shade, this is awesome. THIS is the exact attitude Rage wanted to inspire (so I hear based on interviews). Hell yeah.

This song is at the very end of The Matrix, as Neo hangs up the phone and blasts off into the sky - transition to credits. I can't detangle it from that movie in my mind.

Rage Against the Machine's music is still played pretty often at events, it's just that no one listens to the lyrics.

I listened to this at age 15 in '92. I had to go to the library to fully understand the lyrics. I will always be grateful they woke me up.

Funny you mention in 4:25 how their music is probably banned out of some places. They were basically at the top of a huge list of bands that were banned from playing on the radio right after 9/11. Stayed like that for a few years. They also got kicked out of SNL in ‘96 for trying to hang upside down US flags on their amps, which caused a fight back stage.

They really be the best like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think all the questions you raise are good, and it sorta highlights why having thoughtful, informed art is important. Feels like no one is making anyone ask any questions anyone. They all think they found the answers at the bottom of an algorithm.
