  I don&apos;t understand why anyone would hate Octavia or even blame her for this. If anything, Octavia is the <b>real</b> victim in this mess.

  The saddest part is that Octavia is alone in all this. Her dad has Blitz to go to for support. Her mother has her brother to vent, laugh and gloat with. Octavia has no one to talk to or go to. Her world is falling apart all around her and she has to just deal with it.

  The writers did octavia dirty by not showing her perspective more, they could&apos;ve showed all the times stolas ignored octavia cuz he was obsessed with blitz, could&apos;ve showed that he flirted with blitz so many times in front of her.. But that will only make stolas look bad

  As a kid of parents that nearly divorced, it was very easy to see where she is coming from. She sees herself as getting in the way of Stolas&apos; happiness. She blames herself for why everything went wrong, and why her parents may have never gotten along. It can feel like everything is your fault because things didn&apos;t apparently go wrong until you were born.

  From Octavia’s perspective Stolas has been a neglectful father. He has tried to take her to a theme park for kids when she is a teenager, insisting that she used to love it when flashbacks have shown that she didn’t even like it when she WAS a kid (shows he doesn’t really know her), doesn’t really try to consider her feelings when talking about the divorce (as a child of divorce myself, watching your parents constantly scream and bad mouth each other really does mess you up). He’s so wrapped up in hating her mom that he forgets things that were important to her and instead of coming to LA to find her himself, Luna finds her instead while he is with Blitz, the REASON for her parents break up. <br><br>A lot of their interactions has always been Stolas messing up, Octavia forgiving him. Which in another show might mean everything is cool again and resets but much like in real life, people don’t forgive so easily. And if you’re in a dynamic where one person is always forgiving the transgressions of the other, no matter how meaningful the apologiser is, it can grate on you. It makes you feel foolish to have forgiven someone who has repeatedly hurt you. It makes you feel weak, manipulated, lied to, so they could sweep negativity under the rug and pretend everything is fine when it isn’t. <br><br>Stolas’ insistence that he won’t leave her and then going on NATIONAL TELEVISION to declare that he’d rather be dead than live without Blitzo, not considering the fact that Octavia might have to watch her father being executed without so much as a goodbye must have been devastating for her. It makes everything he’s promised to her and all the times she’s forgiven him obsolete. <br><br>It’s not hard to see why she believes Stolas had ‘chosen’ Blitz over her because he HAS. We know that Stolas loves his daughter very much but love isn’t enough. You can love someone and still hurt them repeatedly without even realising it. I really hope that this arc isn’t easily solved with a hug and a sappy apology. Stolas needs to make the effort to prove himself to his daughter and earn her love back

  I&apos;m a child of divorce. I connect with Octavia <b>a lot.</b> To say my dad messed up with me would be an understatement. Yes, Stolas was trying his best, but that doesn&apos;t excuse that he was a downwright awful parent to her! He consistently neglected her needs and instead of calling her straight away, he called her the day after! She probably spent the whole night thinking that he had been executed.

  Let&apos;s all be honest. Octavia is the most affected and most neglected here. I don&apos;t blame her for being mad at Stolas. She has every right to be. He keeps chasing after Blitz who at first would not even give him the time of day and barely seems to do anything to be there for Octavia. He would rather watch Blitz do a comedy show than look for his child in the human realm
