I love anything and everything Lucy Worsley researches and presents. Dr. W is a great historian.

I knew quite a number of society ladies born in this era (circa 1880s) in the Boston area who survived into the 1970s. They were gracious, cultured, generous, and it was magical knowing them. Some of them were also painted by Sargent and have portraits hanging at the Museum of Fine Arts.

Hearing her story, thinking it all happened so long ago, and then realising her date of passing meant she was alive to experience things like Elvis and the Beatles as well...mindboggling

The “dollar princesses” most likely helped save many historic homes in Britain. And that’s very cool - being a part of preserving historic houses.

I had a lovely visit to Kenwood house and Daisy’s portrait is stunning and memorable. Lots of world class art there to see for free. Thanks for sharing and much appreciation for Lucy, always a pleasure to watch!

Beautiful portraits. We're so lucky, that they provide at least some visual documentation of history.

Isn't it interesting (and says a lot about our views of women) that a woman attempting to marry someone wealthier is a gold digger, but a wealthy woman marrying a poorer aristocrat is a dollar princess. Damned if you have the money, damned if you don't.

My husband and I spent a day at Kenwood. It was seriously enchanting.
