I went through a period of feeling like this too. I've always been a very goal-driven person and felt happiest when I was working towards something, but when I reached a point where I did everything I wanted to do, I felt this strange feeling of "that's it"? This feeling got worse after I went on maternity leave and didn't have a workplace to focus my energy on. What helped me get over this period was recognizing that life goes through phases, and putting some small but "meaningful" goals in place for me to strive towards. Another thing was just more social interactions

No body lnows the real purpose of life , why God sent us into this world. So keep going and try to be happy each day. Underambition and overambition both can lead to unhappiness. Just be what you are. If you are not doing anything bad , then you are good.

At the core, it is peace which makes one feel centered and satisfied.. Sometimes its a relationship, sometimes, its the liabilities of any kind, which may be an issue and constantly irritates you mentally.. Also remember, its not a race until you want it to be a race..

Hi Gina, I was wondering: why do you feel that you need to become a “better version” of yourself?

I have to admit that I’m a little skeptical about this whole idea of constantly trying to optimize and improve ourselves. Sometimes I think it can become a trap — because there is always something else we could improve, and we may end up feeling that who we are right now is somehow never quite enough.

For me, it feels more important to keep noticing and enjoying the good things that are already part of our lives. Sometimes it can be something very simple — like really enjoying a delicious sushi meal, which I definitely appreciate too. :-)

Of course, there are also things in life that we genuinely want to change, and I think that’s completely healthy. In your case, for example, wondering whether a different job might make you happier or bring something new into your life. And yes, leaving our comfort zone from time to time can be a good thing too — I just don’t think we have to do it all the time, in every part of our lives.

At the end of your video, you say that you don’t really have a goal at the moment. I hope you’ll discover some new goals that feel meaningful and exciting to you. And they don’t always have to be huge goals — sometimes the smaller ones can be just as valuable.

Just found your channel. I like your video, specially hearing your voice!! The question is: is it really necessary to become a better self? What is even a better self? To me you look like someone who already achieved a lot, even lived in Sweden. You should have a goal where you want to go not necessarily in the work world but in general. I will watch your other videos to get to know you better.

What are your long term goals?
Reaching goals should not be a rat race, goals must have a purpose behind them.
What is your purpose?
Sadly, for almost everyone, a good retirement is the goal. The future.
What motivated people was the family, or to have a house, to move to a better place. Without that, goals seem pointless.

Well, you’ve had a couple of apparent setbacks, ..first not finding work in Sweden, then the repositioning with your current employer 4 months in. Step back though, look objectively, and see this as just further signs of a deteriorating world economy that’s affecting everyone. As you said yourself in an earlier video, you now have a pleasant working environment, with an easy commute, and a schedule that allows time for the hobbies that you are passionate about. Maybe time to just embrace drifting along for a bit (longer)? 🙂
