  Thank you Skylabs for having this conversation  with Ed. I also recall the 70s of what I remember as the heyday of stereo , quad records, open reels, amps and receivers. Much of my current gear is vintage.  I feel Skylab’s is similar in the spirit,  but I cannot access your store for services, because I am Indiana. Ed has some great stories as well. I recall Fat Julian’s Audio in Atlanta, (and Crazy Larry’s of Indianapolis), and Julian  sat me upstairs in large area to listen to Fusalier speakers through Brystan amp, and it was an experience  to hear Supertramp music with no restriction on time. Keep the Skylab channel going!

  I turned 64 and grew up with the power wars. Classic Pioneers, Yamaha, Advent and Klipsch. Great hearing wisdom from the old school

  A bit late to the party as I’m experiencing this video in June ‘25. And I enjoyed this conversation immensely. It helped to bring back great memories of my high school days in the early ’70’s and hanging out with other crazed audio junkies.<br>It was then, and still is about the music in whatever format or media type. So, thank you for this great content!

  Kevin you feel about Ed as I feel about you. Man your down to earth and not judgmental, you don’t claim to be an expert but of course you’re exposure to so much gear does make you one . I respect and value your opinion on what you share . &nbsp;Thank you for your channel and yes this content is very good as well. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  Great conversation! Very truthful and informative for novices and hardcore enthusiasts. I have been an aspiring audiophile for decades since I got a new Pioneer SX-450 receiver and a hand-down Fisher table and Criterion speakers. That was 1977. Played music great. Then got some HPM speakers for Christmas. In the military in the early 80&apos;s, I went through various gear bought at the BX, and local hifi stores. Then had a used MAC MA6100 I loved for decades, traded in six years sgo for a new MA252 integrated. That one didn’t really do anything for me, so sold it last year. It did look nice. But now I have a simple vintage mid-power Kenwood KR4070 receiver bought for $50, and $75 vintage Vector Research VR-5000 receiver. Both mint, found on CL. I alternate using those with my vintage $25 thrift-found Pioneer PL41 turntable, &nbsp;and change out my vintage Model 6, and thrift-found EPI 100 speakers. Real walnut too. Very tiny investment, and it all looks and sounds great to my almost senior ears. In the end, I just didn&apos;t want to go down the audiophile gear rabbit hole, and money required. Also, so much snake oil in pursuing that too. Now I am content with my simple old gear, and can just enjoy the music and my huge old vinyl collection. Great points on this interview.
