The blue sport jacket is sharp.

The blue sports jacket is the perfect solution for a beach wedding. A no jacket option is too casual if you want to appear on the well-dressed side of things. Only if it is a small, destination style wedding, where you are completely confident that the dress code is for very casual should you go to a wedding without a jacket.

I’ll be honest. For years I was blind to the difference shoes make. I mean, they’re a tiny little piece of the wardrobe, right? WRONG. They can take a weathered, casual look to a whole new level. Once I REALLY saw the difference, I never went back to crappy shoes again.

Here's a piece of advice I have for people who need to decipher dress codes: think about them in descending steps. What I mean is, take a dress code most people understand: business wear (or business formal). This pretty much means a dark suit, simple shirt (no bold patterns), simple tie (again, no bold patterns) and black or maybe dark brown shoes which are usually lace-ups. <br>Something like 'cocktail attire' is the equivalent of business wear, but for a non-work setting. So here you can have a slightly louder-coloured suit. Maybe more pattern in your shirt and/or tie. Maybe wear monkstraps or loafers instead of the lace-ups. Maybe more textured fabrics. You're still dressed up, but a little less conservatively. It's 'one step down' from business formal. <br>Casual, for example, is a step below business casual. It's business casual adapted to a non-work setting. So if an invitation has a dress code that contains 'casual' in it, it doesn't or shouldn't mean slogan T-shirt and flip flops. It means business casual but maybe more colourful, with more textured fabrics and more freedom to use accessories and the like. <br>And keep in mind, it is rarely wrong to be overdressed. If you wear business casual to an event that asks for smart casual, technically you are not wrong. Nobody will complain. If you are underdressed, different story.

Polo shirts with welted waist bands tend to look smarter and classier than the tuck in and buckle up style. Both styles are good but the welted waist band polo offers a much nicer silhouette without the belt chopping the whole look in half. Italian made polos from Gran Sasso and MASQ offer great options with really nice pure fabrics. Sand Copenhagen offer Italian/Scandinavian fusion styled polos, many of which are made in Italy along with some more affordable lines that are made elsewhere but still from high quality Italian fabrics utilising strict production and quality controls.... Overall, the waist banded Italian styled polo shirts look more modern and stylish than the tuck in and buckle up look which can look awkward when bloated after a meal out and a couple of beers.

Problem is adults in the 30-60 groups look terrible. Men in T shirts and hoodies in any job. Such terrible examples like the PA Senator; a US Senator.
