If Honda ever wakes up long enough to make the 300L and Rally into 400cc models, (and maybe using heavier springs), we won't be talking as much about bikes for a while. Just riding.

I’m 54 years old and I’ve been riding for 51 years and I’ve owned over 40 motorcycles. I’ve owned every category of motorcycle and six different brands, but I have to say the most fun I think I’ve had on motorcycles was with my Yamaha TW 200.

I get this isn't a review, but it touches what I like most about your reviews - they're not about spec sheet comparisons but rather what you feel about the bikes. When you know a reviewer has a very particular point of view and reviews based on feelings from that POV you get a much better feel of what a bike *is*. Anyone can read and compare specsheets, but it's so much more useful to have a few different reviews from different POV's. Thanks for what you do!

Sometimes it's not that the particular bike is great, it's the trips and experiences you have on it that make you love it.

My favorite has been my 2016 wr250r. Still one of the best lightweight dual sports of all time.

2005 XR650L with numerous offroad mods but still road worthy and adventure ready. Capable of single track and stone reliability

I’ve had probably 15 or so bikes in my life. My second favorite was a Versys 650, so I’m surprised to hear it rated so low on this list.I had an after market seat and highway pegs and could ride it comfortably hundreds of miles per day. I think the most was approximately 850 miles. My current primary bike is the best motorcycle I’ve ever owned, a BMW R1250 GS. The best motor on a motorcycle I’ve owned was a BMW K1600 GTL. It was great for touring but too heavy for all around use. The most surprisingly good bike I’ve owned (and still own) is a Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor. The motor is very Honda like, with the smoothest transmission I’ve ever owned. My biggest motorcycle regret was selling my 1981 GPZ 550. I loved that bike, but had a new daughter and my wife (wisely) wanted me to live to see her grow up. My only priceless motorcycle is a 1972 Kawasaki 90. It was my 12th birthday present, and I’ve restored it and still ride it 53+ years later.

Been riding 17 years, I've had 35 bikes including dirt bikes. There are 3 bikes i regret selling.

#1 2017 Husqvarna FE501 - put 16000km on that bike, sold it to a friend then bought it back, custom built it into a street legal cr500 powered beast. It should have been my forever bike. But i was dumb and sold it way too cheap.
#2 2023 KTM 890 ADV R - Bought brand new as my do everything bike, put 4500 km on it and sold it.
#3 2012 Kawasaki ZX14R - Bought to achieve 300 kmph. Clocked 304 on GPS. Thing was pristine and had the gorgeous green with gold flake paint. Sold because i was tired of looking over my shoulder for cops. Realistically I have come to realize i cant own a rocket as I'm too stupid on them and have kids now. But I still should have kept it just because it was so damn pretty :)

Current ride: 2025 Norden 901 Expedition - Literally just got the bike delivered today it has 1km on it. This is truly the do it all bike. All the electronics unlocked unlike the KTM 890 where you have to pay for that, heated grips, heated seat, good windshield, comfy, cruise control, and can match the 890 ADV R offroad. I'm excited for my journey with the Norden. There are great deals on them now and they have 4 year warranty.
