A HUNTER HAS A TERRIFYING ENCOUNTER IN NEW MEXICO | IT WANTED TO EAT ME (UNIT 23)

In this episode of Sasquatch Theory, I interview John from Missouri, who grew up hunting the rugged backcountry of New Mexico. John shares a series of disturbing experiences that began during a mule deer hunt in January 2021. While traveling deep into the National Forest on a 4x4 trail, John and his hunting party discovered strange, human-like scat and large footprints. Even more unsettling, some of the tracks appeared inside their fresh tire tracks, suggesting that whatever made them had crossed the trail after they arrived. The tracks eventually led toward the area where they had parked their truck. Later, they discovered that a log had been rolled into the road—and similar tracks were found nearby. Months later, John returned to the same region for another hunt. While quietly making his way down a trail before daylight, he began hearing rocks sliding, trees shaking, and something large moving along the mountainside. At first, he suspected elk. Then objects began flying toward him. They were rocks. As John attempted to figure out what was happening, he describes the atmosphere suddenly becoming extremely heavy and unnatural. Looking toward the hillside, John eventually spotted what he believed was a Sasquatch moving in the distance and attempted to zoom in on it with his phone. Two days later, John returned to the same location after spotting a group of mule deer bucks in the area. This time, the encounter became even stranger. John says he began experiencing thoughts that didn't seem like his own. The atmosphere became thick once again, and he describes hearing what sounded like a voice inside his mind telling him, “STOP.” Then he saw a face watching him through the trees. Approximately 80 yards away, John describes seeing what appeared to be a male creature with reddish, leathery-looking skin, thick hair, a pronounced or hooded nose, and unusual pointed ears. John felt that the being was extremely intelligent—and potentially dangerous. Maintaining eye contact, John slowly backed away. In this interview, John takes us deep into the New Mexico wilderness and recounts the tracks, thrown rocks, strange atmosphere, possible telepathic communication, and terrifying face-to-face encounter that left him with a feeling of primal fear.
