Ejae, the singing voice of Rumi was hired to write the songs on the movie. So she wrote them and did the demos. The directors were so used to her singing that they asked her to be the actual singing voice. Ejae had trained for 10 years with a kpop agency only to be told that she is too old to debut. She was crushed but she moved back to her family in America and studied/graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts. She had a successful career as a kpop producer and songwriter. Kpop Demon Hunters is her big break into the spotlight.

Love reactions from people who actually know their music. I'm a total ignorant, but it is satisfying to have a guide into all the care and work hidden behind the emotions.

9 long years of hard work, effort and determination. That’s how long it took to make this movie. This is a labor of love, and now the WHOLE world is feeling it…

I really enjoyed this reaction! I'm a middle-aged woman who has become mildly obsessed with the movie and I've gone down the rabbit hole of reaction videos. Everyone comes at it from their own angle but I have not seen one like you've done showing exactly how they broke down the rhythm and chords. I know next to nothing about music but I understood everything you said beautifully. Thanks!

EJAE, wrote and sang the song as Rumi the purple haired girl, wasn't originally going to be the singer in the movie, but her demo's were so good they just asked her to be the singer, she was a Trainee at SM for 10 years but due to various reasons did not debut and switched to songwriting, writing for Red Velvet, Aespa and Twice among others

What I find absolutely fascinating is everyone's analysis of this movie's soundtrack. I've learned so much from you, a music producer, a rapper, vocal coaches, and classically trained singers. Thank you for taking the time to educate us. Music has so many nuances and deliberate choices that I never realized before.

EJAE has so much control and finesse at super high notes it's kind of ridiculous. Even when she sings low notes you can just FEEL the power she has in her voice.
