  When people subtly tried to make me feel bad about turning 30 last year I had to remind them that I had stage 4 cancer at age 24 AND ALMOST DIDNT LIVE TO SEE 25 and turning 30 was supposed to be a negative thing ?<br><br>Also, turning 30 and being officially cured of cancer (the 5 year remission mark) were the same year. No one could take that joy from me.

  Gwen Stefani is one of the saddest examples for me. We’re about the same age and she was such a hero of mine when we were younger. She was punk, she rocked her smaller chest, her natural looks and really seemed to do whatever she wanted in terms of fashion and music etc. Now she looks like every other celebrity and is indistinguishable from the other Botox &nbsp;eyebrow lift aliens. Adele also is following in her footsteps. I’m happy for her to get healthy but she’s had work done and now she just looks like the rest of them and not herself. And we fell in love with her while she looked like herself and partly because she looked like herself and it was awesome. It’s a betrayal, honestly.

  Speaking as a mother that lost her 29 yr old son in a horrific motorcycle accident I realize more than ever how blessed I truly am to have the privilege to even be “old”, see my grandchildren, the mountains and live life. Age is a blessing and we should embrace our age by being the best we can be, not by being something we r not.

  I&apos;m 27. I&apos;m developing my first wrinkles and grey hairs and I&apos;m so proud of them. I&apos;ve had severe mental health problems for half of my life and I never thought I&apos;d even make it over 22. Every sign of aging is proof that I&apos;ve made it. I survived. I&apos;m the happiest I&apos;ve ever been and I&apos;ve never felt this comfortable in my skin.

  My brother died at 18, so every day, i remind myself that being over 50 is a privilege. I&apos;m lucky to be slim and relatively young looking, but not in HD! A sense of humour is better than any botox shot. That and sunscreen every single day of the year.

  This made me unexpectedly a little emotional. My dad died at age 36, I’m 32 this year and I feel I owe it to him to get old!… with all my life stories still visible on my skin.

  The worst thing about getting older is not the crows feet or the neck and forehead wrinkles. The very worst thing about getting older is seeing your loved ones pass away. I’m 50 and I’ve already lost my mom, my dad and my older sister who died last year from breast cancer. That loss about damn near ended me. I’m still devastated. We had dreams of growing old together. Yes, eventually we will all get old (hopefully) but my advice to people would be to spend time with the people you love!! &nbsp;Take lots of pictures and make lots of memories with the people that you love. Wear your sunscreen everyday and get out there and enjoy life and stop worrying about what you can’t control. Learn to love and embrace your smile lines and remember the people who gave them to you!!

  I’m 31 and I always say you couldn’t PAY me to go back to being 20. I’m confident, I’m beautiful, and I’m ok with myself. My face shows my story, and I’m really proud of everything I’ve survived.
