Crazy to see tha feeding frenzy, It's amazing what is right off the Jersey Shore. Two years ago we sailed thru several large schools of skate south of Barnaget Inlet. Hundreds of thousands of skate, and the schools were almost a mile wide. Then we would sail another 1/2 mile to a mile and another huge school of skate would appear. It was like this all the way past Harvey Cedars. They were all the same size, about 12 to 16" and there were so many it changed the color of the water. This happened about 5 times and they were a few hundred yards off the beach at most. They were all moving north as we sailed south so we know it was a few different schools.
