Tghat is a platform principally dedicated to documenting the Tigray War; advocating for truth, justice and accountability; and thereby contributing to efforts for peace, coexistence, and development in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. The Tigray war –which quickly morphed into a genocidal campaign on the people of Tigray – is fundamentally about challenges in state building, democracy and regional peace in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, coupled with geopolitical interests in the Red Sea and Horn of Africa region. The prospect of peace, democracy and development in the region requires unravelling the complex issues relating to the conflict, and mapping pathways. Tghat seeks to contribute to the understanding of these issues through genuine and honest conversations.
