I'm Buck Johnson. I'm seventy years old. My older brother came home from Vietnam in 1969 and didn't say a word about it for almost thirty years. Getting him to finally talk is how all of this started. I've spent the four decades since collecting the war the textbooks skipped: after-action reports, declassified files, letters home, and the accounts of the men who were actually there, from the A Shau Valley to the wire at Khe Sanh. Vietnam Declassified is where those stories get told: the snipers, the tunnel rats, the missions Washington denied ever happened, the men the record books forgot. Semper Fi.
