We are Hakka and Christine — retired travellers, caravan wanderers and enthusiastic amateurs at this whole “having more time to travel” thing. After years of work, shift work, business ownership, policing, nursing, kayaking, camping, 4WDs and generally trying to fit adventures in around real life, we’ve finally reached the stage where we can spend more time doing what we love — getting away in the van. We’re not full-time travellers, and we’re definitely not experts. We’re just two Aussies exploring the coast, the outback, small towns, big drives, great camps, average decisions and the occasional bakery that may require further scientific testing. The Hakka Experiment is about travelling Australia, sharing the places we visit, the gear we use, the things we learn, and the stuff that goes slightly sideways along the way.
