At 35, I left the city and returned to my hometown with only a small amount of savings. I had no big investment or real estate experience, but I believed hard work could help me build a better life. I began searching for abandoned houses. Many had overgrown gardens, broken roofs, cracked walls, and had been empty for years. While others saw worthless houses, I saw opportunities. With my limited money, I bought, cleaned, repaired, and renovated them. Some I rented out, while others I sold for a small profit and used the money to invest in the next house. Life is not easy. My parents are sick, and my younger siblings are still studying. Every dollar I earn helps pay for medicine, daily expenses, and their education. Sometimes I feel exhausted and want to quit. But when I think of my family, I keep going. I didn’t return home because I failed. I returned to build a future with my own hands, take care of my parents, and give my siblings a better life.
