Some things you don't realise you miss until someone says them out loud. The rattle of the milk float at six in the morning. Chip fat and vinegar drifting out of a shop doorway. A coal fire in the front room and frost on the inside of the bedroom window. Vault of Old Britain is where those memories are kept. We make long-form documentaries about everyday British life from the post-war years to the end of the 1980s — the high streets we lost, the corner shops and the sweets they sold, the council houses and terraces we grew up in, the telly we all watched on a Saturday night, the seaside towns, the winters, the work, and the small ordinary details that made Britain feel like Britain. No highlight reels. No two-minute clips. Just proper, unhurried films you can put on of an evening with a cuppa and let run.
