For two hundred years, Appalachian families kept themselves fed, warm, and doctored with nothing but what they had on hand and what their grandmothers taught them. How to read the weather off the sky. How to put up a winter's food with no power. What grew in the woods that would feed you, and what would kill you. None of it was ever written down. It lived in people's hands, and it died with them, over and over, all up and down these hills. This channel is me trying to catch some of it before the last of it slips away.
