Das Institut für Bauweisen und Strukturtechnologie gehört zum Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) und entwickelt Hochleistungsstrukturen für viele Anwendungsbereiche (Luft- und Raumfahrt, Verkehr u.a.) von der Konzeption bis zur Produktionstechnologie. Das Institut verteilt sich auf die zwei Standorte Stuttgart und Augsburg. In Stuttgart sind vier Abteilungen angesiedelt: - Bauteilgestaltung und Fertigungstechnologien - Keramische Verbundstrukturen - Strukturelle Integrität - Raumfahrt Systemintegration In Augsburg befindet sich die Abteilung „Automatisierung und Qualitätssicherung in der Produktion“.
