I'm Caleb Thorne. I was born in 1954 and grew up in a little cotton town in West Texas — one bathroom for the six of us, a party line the whole road listened in on, three channels on a black and white set, and the streetlights telling us when to come home. This channel is long-form documentary about growing up in America in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, told by somebody who was actually there. Not a list of old pictures with a voice laid over the top. Thirty minutes on one thing at a time: the Sears Wish Book, the drive-in, a summer with no air conditioning, the day in Dallas, the night the first word from the moon was "Houston." Some of it was better. Some of it wasn't, and I say so. If you lived it, you'll remember. If you didn't, this is what your folks have been trying to tell you about. New episodes every week.
