Hi, I'm Burl Sizemore. I was born in 1954 and have spent my whole life in the same county in the mountains of eastern Kentucky. My father came home from the Pacific in 1946 to a house with no electricity, no running water and a mule in the lot. I watched all three go in a decade. This channel is about what a man carried in his pockets and what he did with it. The knives, the stones, the small tools, and the fixes that came before you could buy another one. I am not here to tell you the old ways were wisdom. They were what was available. When something better showed up, these were not stubborn people. But every so often they threw out a thing that was better, and nobody checked. Those are worth a look. Everyday carry, pocket knives, hand tools, sharpening, Appalachian household objects, forgotten repairs, and life in these mountains from the 1930s to the 1960s. New videos regularly.
