At Potlikker, we tell African American history through the food that carried it: Sunday dinners, church suppers, Juneteenth tables, and the everyday cooking that became some of the best this country has ever known. Black cooks built the backbone of American cuisine and rarely got the credit. Families carried these traditions out of the South and rebuilt them in Harlem, Chicago, and Detroit. The name says it all. Potlikker is the rich broth left at the bottom of the pot, once dismissed as scraps and now known as the most nourishing part of the meal. That is this channel: the overlooked history, served back to you full of flavor. Potlikker is a food-history channel documenting African American cooking and the people behind it. It is a fully owned and operated media property, researched and produced in-house. Any third-party footage or music is licensed. Business & sponsors: [email protected]
