Welcome to the Snowstead — I’m David, I document the reality of building a resilient, simple, and self-sufficient life here in the forests of Ontario. From heating a tiny home through -30°C winters, to managing power with solar, generators, and clever backup systems, to DIY builds, tools, bushcraft, and seasonal challenges — everything you see here is hands-on, tested, and learned the hard way. If you’re into: • Homesteading & tiny home living • Off-grid power, heating, and backup systems • DIY builds, tools, and practical problem solving • Wilderness, forest living & outdoor life • Real stories instead of flashy ads …then this is your place. I share what works, what fails, and everything I wish I knew sooner — with videos packed with first-hand experience, honest reviews, and practical takeaways you can use at home. Stick around for weekly stories, seasonal projects, and grounded, down-to-earth content from the forest. Welcome to the Snowstead!
