Kadamba Kanana Swami (1953 - 2023) was a spiritual teacher and leader in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna movement. Born in a small city near Amsterdam, Holland, he grew up in a wealthy family who specialised in commerce and management. Uninterested in either, he left his mapped out path to seek a higher calling. In the late 1970s, he encountered the teachings of ISKCON and was immediately drawn to the path of Bhakti Yoga. He was known for his lively and engaging style of teaching, and for his ability to make complex spiritual concepts easy to understand. He has written several books on Bhakti Yoga. He was also an accomplished musician, recording several albums known for their devotional depth and rousing melodies. Kadamba Kanana Swami was bold, humorous, dynamic and approachable, perhaps best known for making all those who knew him - from seniors, peers and contemporaries to his disciples and followers - feel valued.
