Welcome to Faraway Lives. We create cinematic documentaries about how people live, work, build, adapt, and endure in some of the world’s most remarkable places. From isolated islands and mountain villages to ancient cities, remote communities, difficult roads, and countries often misunderstood by the outside world, every documentary begins with a simple question: How do people build a life here—and why do they stay? Faraway Lives goes beyond beautiful scenery to explore everyday life, history, geography, transportation, food, work, community, and the challenges of living far from the familiar world. Our films are carefully researched and created for viewers who want more than a travel guide. We focus on authentic places, clear storytelling, respectful cultural context, and the real human lives behind each landscape. New long-form documentaries regularly. Faraway Lives Real People. Remote Places. Remarkable Lives.
