Grandma Wisdom (Mrs Shirley Parks) is 82 years old. She is a native of New Orleans, LA. She spent her early years in Uptown, New Orleans, where she developed a love of arts and crafts and community service. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1958. Mrs. Parks attended Delgado Community College for Early Childhood Development, where she led several initiatives to improve the evening students’ lives on campus. In addition, she attended William Carey University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in her later years. She was the first African American to graduate from Victor Business School as a computer punch operator. Mrs. Parks worked for over 25 years at Louisiana State University Dental School, where she excelled in data entry as a computer operator and trained many dentists in insurance billing. She retired in 2005 from LSU Dental. Mrs. Parks is a member of the Christian Fellowship Cathedral, where she was the music minister. #wisdomofgrandma
