I practice spirituality but I don’t believe in it. I’m only concerned with the question of how to reduce suffering, without having to lie to myself about it. I don't want to offer you another belief system. I've been in and out of enough of them to know how the cycle goes: You find one that seems to answer all your questions, believe it sincerely, until the hope slowly wears off, and then the whole thing looks embarrassingly absurd. The nihilist phase that follows feels more depressing than the one before. What has worked instead is phenomenological practice, and a way of reading meaning that doesn't require believing in it. Stick around for video essays on troubleshooting the confusing path of transformation, and tarot as pattern-work.
