My name is Dale Prescott. Thirty one years buying at estate sales, farm auctions and garage cleanouts across the Midwest, and the same thing happens at every sale: somebody scraps a wrench worth two thousand dollars because it had rust on it, or lets a box go for five dollars with the one good thing still sitting inside it. Every episode I take one ordinary thing out of an ordinary house. The tools in the garage. The knives in the kitchen drawer. The tapes in the closet, the lures in the tackle box, the sewing machine nobody has threaded since 1974, the guitar in the case under the bed. Then I show you the small number of marks, dates and details that separate the ten dollar version from the seven hundred dollar one. No hype and no lottery tickets. Most of it is worth nothing, and I will say so. The point is the few that are not.
