Why don't we ride ostriches? Why did no one ever saddle a moose, or keep hyenas like dogs? Almost Tamed tells the stories of the animals humans tried to ride, farm, train and live with, and why most of those attempts failed. Every video starts with a simple question and follows it through history, biology and a few very bad ideas, until the real answer turns out to be about us as much as the animal. The videos are hand-drawn doodle explainers, written from real research. The main sources for each episode are listed in its description, so you can check anything that sounds too strange to be true.
